Musica Orbis Prague Festival is an international choral and orchestral music festival traditionally being held at the beginning of July. Festival had its successful premiere in 2019. Participating choirs from all over Europe and America got to perform in the most beautiful concert halls in Prague such as St. Vitus’s Cathedral, Church of Sts. Simon and Jude, Czech Museum of Music and many more.
The growing interest of regional ensembles gave rise to the idea of organizing a festival in its national form. This is how Musica Orbis GLORIA was born!
The first-ever Musica Orbis GLORIA took place on 6th-7th November 2021, in Prague’s stunning Bohuslav Martinů Hall at the Liechtenstein Palace, featuring 6 choirs in 3 categories.
Our 2022 edition, on 5th-6th November, continued this autumn tradition and expanded to host 14 choirs from Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
This year’s edition offers participants the opportunity to perform at the Opening Concert on Friday evening. On Saturday, the highly anticipated competition will take place, featuring both competitive and non-competitive categories with an unrestricted repertoire. All vocal performances will be evaluated by a distinguished jury comprising Marek Valášek, Alena Tichá, and Luboš Hána. Each choir will have the chance to receive feedback from professional choral conductors and directors and will be given a platform for collective discussion.
For those interested, there will be an opportunity to accompany the Sunday mass in St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle.
Join us for a musical weekend, build connections, and celebrate the joy of singing!
See you there!
