Gloria Festival 2026 is an international choir competition in Prague that welcomes choirs from across Europe and beyond. As part of the Musica Orbis Festivals series, it offers a professionally organized competitive environment, expert evaluation by a jury and performances in the prestigious historic venues of the Czech capital. The autumn edition takes place from 30 October to 1 November 2026.
The festival was founded in 2021 in response to the growing interest of Czech and Slovak choirs in a competitive format within the Musica Orbis project. The first edition was held in the Bohuslav Martinů Hall at the Liechtenstein Palace in Prague, with six ensembles competing in three categories. Since then the competition has grown year after year, attracting more and more choirs from across Europe.
This year's edition already features registered choirs from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Greece and Germany, confirming the growing international reach of the Prague choir competition.
Festival program at a glance:
Day 1, opening concert. A festive start to the festival, where the participating choirs perform together for the first time and set the tone for the whole weekend.
Day 2, competition and awards ceremony in the Bohuslav Martinů Hall. The main competition day, with expert jury evaluation in one of Prague's most beautiful concert halls, concluding with the awards ceremony.
Day 3, St. Vitus Cathedral and a river cruise. The highlight of the festival, singing together in the extraordinary space of St. Vitus Cathedral, followed by a closing cruise on the Vltava where choirs forge new musical friendships.
Gloria Festival has steadily earned its place as a respected international choir competition in Prague. Each successive edition brought a significant rise in participation and confirmed the growing interest in a high quality choral competition with professional support and the unique atmosphere of a historic city.
